The main measuring elments in the rotametr ae a tperd glas tube and a float. The glas tube, withe smal endownard, is mounted verticaly and the float can be moved frely int.When the fluid with a certain flow velocity (kinetic enrgy) flows upward through te taperd tube, this kinetic enrgy wil creat a force whic permitshe floato move up, therby increasing the anular oifce btwen the floatnd the taperd tube, and at the same time dcreasing the flow velocity. While the liftng force of the fluids in balnce withe weight of the float,he float istable at certain positon. Thus it can be sen tha theight of the float depnds on the flow rate. It means tha theight of the float can be rgarde as measure of the flow rate. The rading of the flow rate isndicated by thedge of the float’s largest diametr.

Structure

  • Conical Glass Tube: A conical glass tube with a small diameter at the bottom and a large diameter at the top.
