Split magnetic flow meter consists of two parts: the sensor and the converter, the sensor is installed in the measuring pipe, the converter is installed within 30 meters or 100 meters from the sensor, the two are connected by shielded cable.
Split electromagnetic flowmeter works on the same principle as the integrated electromagnetic flowmeter, which is based on Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. When the conductive liquid flows through the sensor installed in the pipe, a potential difference proportional to the flow rate will be induced in the magnetic field. Measuring electrodes are located in the magnetic field to measure the magnitude of the induced voltage. A converter is used to process the induced potential difference signal from the sensor and convert it to a standard current or voltage signal output.
Structure of split electromagnetic flow meter
- Sensor: the sensor is the core component of the electromagnetic flowmeter, consisting of measuring tube, electrode, excitation coil, iron core and yoke shell and so on. Measuring tube connected to the pipe, conductive liquid flow through the measuring tube will be induced in the magnetic field potential difference. The electrodes are located inside the measuring tube and are used to measure the induced potential difference. The excitation coil is energized to produce a magnetic field. The iron core and the yoke shell form a magnetic circuit, so that the magnetic field is evenly distributed in the measuring tube.
- Converter: The converter is used to process the induced potential difference signal output from the sensor and convert it to a standard current or voltage signal output. The converter is mainly composed of amplifier, filter, rectifier, A/D converter and other circuits.
